The Department of Education and Department of Employment and Workplace Relations are jointly hosting two webinars covering the recent announcement of the 2027 National Planning Level and the upcoming Education Agent Commission Data Collection activity. 2027 National Planning Level The Australian Government has announced a National Planning Level (NPL) of 295,000 New Overseas Student Commencements (NOSCs) for 2027, maintaining the same level as 2026. Providers delivering higher education and VET courses to international students will receive 2027 allocations in line with the NPL, with allocations finalised and published in July 2026. The webinar will cover the 2027 NPL announcement and the allocation processes for the public university, non-university higher education and vocational education and training (VET) sectors. Education Agent Commissions Data Collection Changes introduced to the Education Services for Overseas Act (ESOS) 2000 in late 2025 enable the Secretary of the Department of Education to request data related to education agent commissions. The collection of this data will support the integrity, transparency and quality objectives of recent ESOS reforms and provide a consistent evidence base on education agent commission arrangements across the sector. Where commission has been incurred, providers will be asked to report information including accepted student numbers, commission payments and any non-monetary benefits provided to education agents. Reporting will occur through PRISMS, with the first proposed reporting period covering 1 January to 30 June 2026. The webinar will cover the basics of the data collection process and assist providers’ preparations for the collection. Available sessions Providers and sector stakeholders are invited to register to attend a webinar covering both the 2027 NPL arrangements and the upcoming Agent Commission Data Collection. - Thursday 16 July, 2:30 pm AEST - Monday 20 July, 2:30 pm AEST Both sessions cover all sectors and will incorporate the same content.
