Committees & Representation

In addition to regular submissions and meetings with state and federal government bodies, our members and partners are regularly represented on government and regulatory body councils, committees, and groups.

These are regularly scheduled meeting to discuss key aspects of international education including visas, tuition and a sustainable sector.

National Council for International Education

Established in 2016, the Council for International Education supports a high quality, innovative and sustainable international education sector.

Parliamentary Friends Group of International Education

An initiative of IEAA, this group was reconvened in 2022 following the May Federal election. This group aims to bring together members of parliament and the international education community through events.

Education Visa Consultative Committee (EVCC)

The Education Visa Consultative Committee (EVCC) facilitates consultation between the Department of Immigration and Border Protection and key international education sector stakeholders, including key non-government peak bodies, states and territories, representatives of business and unions, and other Australian Government agencies.

Tuition Protection Service (TPS) Advisory Board

The Tuition Protection Service (TPS) Advisory Board provides advice and makes recommendations to the TPS Director on the settings of the TPS levies. The non-government members of the TPS Advisory Board are appointed by the Minister for Education under the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000. The government members of the Board are legislated representatives of the departments relevant to TPS operations.
