Together with the IEAA Scholarships and Fellowships network conveners, IEAA Young Professionals co-chairs for the ACT chapter invite you to a networking function, following the first day of the annual Scholarships and Fellowships forum.

The event is an excellent opportunity to connect with government sponsors, institution practitioners and key stakeholders, complemented by refreshments and insights from our guest speaker, Dr. Anna Kent. A historian and international education expert, Dr. Kent brings a wealth of experience in international development and education, with a focus on the intersections of education and foreign policy.

This event is open to IEAA members and all early career professionals in international education.
Note: If you have already registered for the Scholarships and Fellowships Forum, you do not need to register separately for this event.

Hon Phil Honeywood, IEAA-SF

Chief Executive Officer
International Education Association of Australia

Phil has been IEAA's Chief Executive Officer since November 2011. Previously, he was a Member of the Victorian State Parliament (1988–2006), Minister for Tertiary Education, Training and Multicultural Affairs (1996–1999) and Deputy Leader of the Opposition (2002–2006). Since retiring from politics, Phil worked at Stott’s Business College and Cambridge International College. Phil is the Chairman of the Roundtable of International Education Peak Body CEOs and a member of the Tuition Protection Service Board. Phil is also a Board member of the Bennelong Philanthropic Foundation and the Bangarra Group Board.

Dr Anna Kent, IEAA-SF

Researcher
Deakin University

Anna is a historian and international education expert with extensive research and project management experience in an International Development and education context. She also works as a sessional academic, teaching history. Her first book, Mandates and Missteps, was published by ANU Press in 2024. Her research interests include international education, international development, foreign policy and their intersections. Anna has a PhD from Deakin University. Her thesis was awarded the Outstanding Postgraduate Thesis Award in the 2022 IEAA Excellence Awards. Anna is a Senior Fellow of the International Education Association of Australia (IEAA) and was the inaugural convener of the IEAA Scholarships and Fellowships Network.

Kamila Dixon

Senior Partnerships Coordinator
University of Canberra

Kamila is originally from the Czech Republic and has been working in international education since 2017. Her enthusiasm for the sector however began in 2011 during a transformative internship in Romania, sparking a lifelong passion for fostering global connections. Kamila’s professional background spans across the school, VET, and HE sectors, and she is currently the Senior Partnerships Coordinator at the University of Canberra, specialising in transnational education and partnerships engagement. Kamila holds a master’s degree in marketing and business and a graduate diploma in psychological science.

Iris Wang

Marketing Manager, Segmenting Marketing & Planning
Australian National University (ANU)

Iris Wang is the Marketing Manager within the International Strategy and Future Students Division at the Australian National University. She spearheads end-to-end digital campaigns targeting international markets. With several years of experience in the higher education sector, she has worked in areas of admissions, student recruitment, events marketing, social media and marketing automation across institutions such as La Trobe Colleges, the University of Canberra and UC College. Having previously served as the International Marketing Specialist at UC, Iris showcased outstanding project management skills in overseeing multiple initiatives simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and seamless execution of digital campaigns, social media strategies, and marketing efforts in the context of international partnerships in advancing the Australian institution's global presence and reputation.
