Hon Phil Honeywood, IEAA-SF

Chief Executive Officer
International Education Association of Australia

Phil has been IEAA's Chief Executive Officer since November 2011. Previously, he was a Member of the Victorian State Parliament (1988–2006), Minister for Tertiary Education, Training and Multicultural Affairs (1996–1999) and Deputy Leader of the Opposition (2002–2006). Since retiring from politics, Phil worked at Stott’s Business College and Cambridge International College. Phil is the Chairman of the Roundtable of International Education Peak Body CEOs and a member of the Tuition Protection Service Board. Phil is also a Board member of the Bennelong Philanthropic Foundation and the Bangarra Group Board.

Cintia Fiore

Marketing and Communications Specialist
Torrens University Australia

Cintia is a Marketing and Communications Specialist, currently working as a Data Analyst & Trainer at Torrens University, and a Lecturer at Kaplan Business School. Originating from Argentina, she navigated the challenges of relocating to Adelaide seven years ago with her husband and young son, overcoming obstacles in housing, employment, and self-confidence. Having completed an MBA specialising in Digital Marketing, Cintia embarked on a successful career journey that began in Marketing and transitioned into Data Analytics. She is passionate about fostering relationships, working collaboratively, and continually seeks to upgrade her skills, staying abreast of emerging technologies to enhance her contributions.

Rishen Shekhar

Director: Global Recruitment & Engagement
University of South Australia

Rishen is the Director, Global Recruitment and Engagement at the University of South Australia (UniSA), leading international student recruitment, business development, partnerships and learning abroad functions. A former international student himself, Rishen has worked across the international education sector for over 17 years in public universities, TAFE, private RTO, accommodations services (PBSA) and education technology. He is an Executive Member of the Australian Universities International Directors' Forum (AUIDF) and the IDP Connect ANZ Advisory Panel.

Yeganeh Soltanpour

International Student Advocate

Yeganeh Soltanpour is an international student advocate who has held roles in the sector such as the National President at the Council for International Students Australia, an Expert member for the Council of international education, and a Board member of the Tuition Protection Services. Originating from Iran and the UAE, she studied Psychology at The University of Adelaide, continued her Honours at Flinders, and recently graduated with an MBA from the University of Adelaide. She founded the non-profit Just Genius, earning the 2022 7news Young Achiever Award for supporting international students with free career services. Yeganeh was also a StudyAdelaide ambassador in 2021, and chosen as part of the Force Forty in 2022, championing South Australia as the prime study destination.

Tony Zheng

Manager, International Development and Partnerships
University of Adelaide

Tony Zheng is the manager of International development and partnerships at the University of Adelaide. Graduating with a Master in Computer Science in 2011 from Adelaide, he has an in-depth understanding of the employment challenges facing international students. Tony is passionate about providing international students with career development support to facilitate their pathway to employment both in Australia and overseas. In 2015, Tony designed and developed the successful China Career Ready Plus (CCR+) program which was the first of its kind in Australia. Tony’s personal experience plus his extensive network of employer contacts in China and Australia are vital to the success of the program. The CCR+ program has been widely recognised for its excellence and has received industry awards from the Australian Financial Review and the National Association of Careers Advisory Services.

David Wei

Future Student Experience Officer
University of Adelaide

David currently works in the University of Adelaide Future Student Experience team where he oversees the day-to-day operations of International and Domestic outbound conversion activities, manages pre-application enquiries and a casual Student Ambassador team while establishing and maintaining strong collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders. David has been working in the international higher education sector for the past five years with his roles across future student engagement, international student recruitment and conversion, admissions and enquiries (CRM and outbound calls), and social media marketing. David is passionate about international education and committed to exploring peer-to-peer support and mentoring opportunities not only for international students, but also for young professionals in the broader international education sector.

Tari Kufeni

Project Manager
Edified

Tari is the Project Manager at Edified and is highly dedicated to her work. She believes that education has the power to transform lives and has a clear sense of purpose. As someone who was once an international student, she understands the unique challenges and opportunities of studying abroad. This experience has instilled in her a deep passion for empowering other students, amplifying their voices and helping them create meaningful and successful experiences on their journeys. Through IEAA, Tari is excited to connect, collaborate, and network with other like-minded professionals in the industry. She hopes to continue making a meaningful impact in students' lives.
