IEAA has partnered with Credly’s Acclaim platform – one of the leading digital credentialing services – to recognise our members for their education, experience and engagement in the international education sector.

Digital credentials are quickly becoming the standard means to demonstrate your skills and experience in a way that can be easily displayed, verified and shared online.

We issue digital credentials for IEAA Associate Fellows, Fellows and Senior Fellows, as well as those who complete an online learning module.

What are the benefits of digital credentials?

Digital credentials or badges enable you to share your achievements online in a way that is simple, trusted and can be easily verified. They your peers and and employers evidence of what you had to do to earn your credential and your achievements within the international education sector.

Where and how can I share my credential?

Credly’s Acclaim platform allows you to add your credentials to your email signature, your LinkedIn profile and even a website or online staff profile. You can also share them via your social media channels (LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook) with the click of a button.

How will I know when I’ve earned my credential?

Once you have achieved the requirements for IEAA Fellowship, or completed an online learning module, IEAA will issue a digital credential via Credly’s Acclaim platform. You will receive an email notification with instructions about how to set up your account and claim your credential.

What if I don’t want my credential to be made public?

You can easily configure your privacy settings in the Acclaim platform. You’re in complete control of the information about yourself and whether you make it public.

Is there a fee to use a digital credential?

There is no charge to use a digital credential. The cost is covered by your fellowship assessment or online learning module fee.

What’s to keep someone from copying my credential and using it?

While online credentials are simply digital image files, they are uniquely linked to data hosted on Credly’s Acclaim platform. This link to verified data makes them more reliable and secure than a traditional paper-based credential or certificate. It also eliminates the possibility of anyone claiming your credential as their own. The technology Credly uses is based on the open badge standards maintained by IMS Global.

Can I export credentials issued through Credly to other badge-storing platforms?

Yes, you can download your credential from the share badge page. Your downloaded file contains open badge infrastructure (OBI) compliant metadata embedded into the image. This allows you to store your badge on other OBI-compliant badge sites, such as the Mozilla backpack.
